About Steamer Clams!

Your seafood is best-enjoyed day of delivery. We take special measures to ensure a safe journey to your doorstep, but sometimes our packages are jostled, mishandled, or even damaged by our shippers. Should your package arrive damaged, please call our Customer Service immediately. We insure every order, so we ask you to snap a picture and send it to us so that we may file the claim.

Because soft-shell clams don't close tightly like their hard-shell cousins, they might contain a little sand. Thoroughly rinse any sand away your clams and mussels with tap water. Place your live clams and/or live mussels on a rack in a kettle of boiling hot water (YOUR STEAMING THESE, NOT BOILING THESE SHELLFISH. Cover slightly and steam about 12-18 minutes (qty doesnt tend to matter as long as they can all fit in the pot or steamer) or just until the SHELLS OPEN WIDE (this will tell you they are done). Discard any clams or mussels that do not open. Loosen your fresh clams and fresh mussels from their shells and serve with butter or garlic butter.

Once cooked, handle gently. Discard any that do not open or if you notice a foul smell. Call or email Customer Service immediately.
